Aberdeen stand firm

Derek McInnes will miss today’s media conference to preview Aberdeen’s visit to Dundee.

With no sign of Sevco coming up with the £1m compensation it looks like McInnes will be frozen out of football as he discovers the reality of finances at Ibrox.

Despite the media pressure it seems that Aberdeen will stand firm meaning that McInnes will be forced to resign if he wants to complete his ‘dream move’.

Aberdeen could then go to court to prevent a key employee moving to a rival forcing McInnes or Sevco to cough up the compensation due in the contract.

With the McInnes move in limbo, or gardening leave, it looks like Graeme Murty will continue in charge of Sevco.

Two days after Aberdeen released a statement denying Sevco permission to speak to their manager there is no way back for McInnes in the eyes of Aberdeen fans.

While most fans gave him the benefit of the doubt against the media pressure two feeble defeats to Sevco and his decision to skip training yesterday mean that there is no way back.

Milne can put McInnes on gardening leave or any duty he feels appropriate with only a cheque from Dave King capable of moving the process along.

Development Team boss Paul Sheerin will take today’s media conference with little interest in his team to face Dundee.
