Jim Duffy believes that Sevco should swoop for Tony Pulis!

According to the Morton boss, writing in The Sun, the former West Brom boss will provide a safe pair of hands for the crisis hit Ibrox club!

Why he hasn’t gone the whole way and suggested Pep Guardiola as the ideal manager to develop Josh Windass and Danny Wilson isn’t quite clear.

The delusions of the Ibrox support has been well documented but surely someone actually in football management would have at least a tenuous grasp of reality.

Sevco’s accounts for the year to June 2017 made for horrific reading. Dave King’s New Oasis Asset Limited are apparently going to provide the £4m shortfall that will make ends meet in the current financial year.

That will be the same South African based criminal who decided not to tell shareholders at the AGM that Alastair Johnston was now a person with significant control of the company.

Having failed to put together the £1m compensation package needed to lure Derek McInnes the Ibrox job is even more toxic than when Pedro Caixinha was sacked.

Whoever takes over will discover a demand to overcome a manager across the city who collected £4.5m in salary and bonus last season- can Sevco offer a tenth of that to their next manager?

In 2014 Pulis negotiated a £2m bonus to save Crystal Palace from relegation from the EPL a task he succeeded in.

As part of his dispute with the London club he was ordered to pay them £3.77m in compensation.

Should Sevco want to open talks with an out of work EPL manager they can prepare to deal with someone who’ll expect a basic wage of £3m/year plus at a very conservative guess a £1m bonus for avoiding relegation, who knows what they’d want to win the title from Celtic?

With a turnover of £29.2m and losses of £6.7m it’s more likely that Duffy will be taking his baseball hat to Ibrox than the former Stoke, Crystal Palace and West Brom gaffer.
