Willie Henderson believes that it’s only a matter of time before Ibrox fans are cheering a title triumph.
The sixties Ibrox star subscribes to the cycle theory that it is only a matter of time before the SPFL trophy is held aloft by some of the kids coming off the Murray Park conveyor belt of talent.
Keeping that myth going is essential to the gullible who have only ever known artificial success achieved through friendly bank terms and tax dodges to keep up with Celtic in the race for honours.
Those scams came to a halt in 2012 with just one Petrofac Cup success for the fans to celebrate while they are charged top dollar to watch journeymen players routinely trashed by Celtic.
“Rangers supporters will never let their club down,” Henderson claimed defiantly to the Daily Record. “They’ve been through a tough time for the last few years and I hope it eventually gets better but the fans will always be here.
“I’d like to think it’s a cyclical thing. Celtic are flying just now so time will tell but we need to get something sorted.
“Sometimes in life things happen and some things (Derek McInnes rejecting Rangers) are not meant to be so the club will just have to move on and get something else sorted. It’s a difficult one for me to comment on because I don’t know what went on in the background.”
