Ryan Jack has had his appeal against the red card he was shown at Aberdeen DISMISSED.

The Sevco midfielder was confident of winning his third appeal of the season having previously been successful with appeals against his ordering offs against Hibs and Kilmarnock. The red card against Hamilton wasn’t appealed.

This time however the SFA’s Independent Panel rejected his appeal after reviewing his lunge into the ankle of Stevie May.

The complex disciplinary system means that Jack will miss the next two matches against Ross County and Hibs then the December 23 visit from St Johnstone.

With Jack unavailable whoever is in charge of Sevco will need to dip into the squad although Jordan Rossiter is unlikely to be available.

The former Liverpool midfielder, once dubbed the next Steven Gerrard by his mum, is expected to resume full training in the next week to 10 days and is hoping to be available for the match with Celtic on December 30.
