Sevco will be without Ryan Jack for Saturday’s clash with Celtic.

The midfielder was substituted during the 2-0 win over Motherwell and left Ibrox with his foot in a protective brace.

Graeme Murty is short of midfield options but may now need to start with Nico Kranjcar or Carlos Pena when they make the trip across the city on Sunday.

Ryan is in a bit of pain and a bit of discomfort,” Murts told The Sun. “He’s in a brace at the moment and we will assess him tomorrow.

Looking at the manner of the injury and his departure from the pitch he would be a doubt for Saturday but, he’s a hardy guy and if there is any chance of him being involved he will be desperate to try and make the team.

I’m going to plead ignorance when it comes to the challenge and say I was following the line of the ball.”

Jack has recently completed a three match suspension after being set off four times this season but only lasted 40 minutes before being replaced by Jamie Barjonas.

Last night’s win lifted Sevco five points ahead of Hibs in the race for third place but they remain three points behind Aberdeen in second spot.

There was some good news for Murts with Brunio Alves back in the side with the Ibrox medical team set to check the defender today for any reaction to the injury that ruled him out of the weekend defeat at Kilmarnock.
