Rookie ref Matej Jug will be in charge of Celtic’s Champions League clash with Anderlecht.

Anything less than a 3-0 defeat will earn the hoops a place in the Europa League, after winning by that scoreline in Brussels the hoops are strong favourites to continue in Europe beyond Christmas.

Jug has only refereed one previous Champions League group stage match which was the low key Borussia Dortmund v Apoel last month in which he issued three yellow cards in a 1-1 draw.

The 37-year-old has been in charge of international matches for a decade but until this season had only been involved in qualifiers and play-offs for the Europa League and Champions League.

Celtic have no players suspended for the visit of Anderlecht but will be without the injured Patrick Roberts who scored against the Belgians earlier in the campaign.

Moussa Dembele and Nir Bitton have missed the last two matches but are expected to be fit for selection on Tuesday night.
