Sevco’s transfer hopes have been dealt a blow with news that Vladimir Weiss will be out of action for the rest of the season.
The Al Gharafa ace was expected to move to Ibrox during the January transfer window and has never hidden his admiration for the Ibrox support with most social media posts ending with #watp.
Weiss played under Pedro Caixinha in the Qatari league but his move to Sevco wasn’t dependent on the 47-year-old remaining as manager.
Using his twitter account the former Manchester City wing wizard revealed that he had suffered an ACL injury to his left knee.
I had some bad news this morning, as the MRI showed that i have torn the ACL in my left knee. I still cant believe it, but i know that everything happens for a reason. I will do everything i can to come back fast and stronger than ever. I already cant wait to play again???????? pic.twitter.com/mvzEMeb75i

Weiss spent the 2010/11 season on loan at Rangers (IL) but new boss Ally McCoist refused to consider making an offer to make the deal permanent when the loan expired.
Spells in Italy, Spain and Greece failed to work out for the Slovenian before he moved to the Qatar ‘Stars’ League in 2013, the year after Rangers were placed in liquidation.
