Sevco have missed out on top January target Louis Moult.
According to a report in The Sun the Motherwell striker has signed a pre-contract agreement with Preston despite interest from Aberdeen, Hibs and Sevco.
Moult was an Ibrox signing target in the summer but Pedro Caixinha decided to splash out £1.5m on Mexican ace Eduardo Herrera.
Motherwell rejected a £400,000 bid from Aberdeen for their top scorer and have been rewarded by 14 goals so far this season including a double against Sevco that earned the Fir Park side a place in the Betfred Cup Final against Celtic.
With a pre-contract deal completed Motherwell will have to decide whether to hold on to Moult or negotiate a cut price January deal.
With Wrexham due a slice of any fee the Fir Park club may decide to hang on to the striker in the hope of finishing in the top six and securing a run in the Scottish Cup.
