Stewart questions the BBC version

Not for the first time Michael Stewart has gone against the grain and questioned the accepted version of events surrounding Sevco’s request to speak to Derek McInnes.

Aberdeen have unsurprisingly been painted as the villains of the piece by denying Del his rightful return to Ibrox and the completion of a dream move.

Rather uncomfortably Sunderland were allowed to speak to McInnes during the summer, perhaps it was because they had agreed compensation terms with Aberdeen?

With a £4m shortfall and a new management team to fund it’s obvious that times are tight at Ibrox with a January war-chest also required for a new management team.

Coming up with an unexpected £1m to compensate Aberdeen would certainly come as a surprise to auditors Campbell Dallas.

Having been told that Dave King is penniless the Court of Session may start to doubt the statements issued by King’s QC in October as he pleaded against the ruling of the Takeover Appeal Board.

Having rejected the official request from Ibrox Aberdeen will be braced for more dirty tricks, sending McInnes on gardening leave would be the sensible option but on past form it’s unlikely that Stewart Milne will stand by any principles.
