Anthony Stokes has insisted that there is no problem with Hibs boss Neil Lennon.

The striker was recently suspended after a disagreement with his boss but is expected to lead the Hibs side that hosts Celtic on Sunday.

Stokes was one of Lennon’s first signings as Celtic boss back in 2010 with the two Irishmen enjoying three title wins despite some testing times.

In October 2011 with Celtic losing 3-0 at half time to Kilmarnock resignation was on Lennon’s mind but a combination of Stokes and James Forrest turned the game around with the hoops romping to the title six months later.

Lennon tried to sign Stokes from Blackburn in January and after agreeing a deal in the summer has been rewarded with nine goals in 15 matches.

“There was a slight disagreement outside,” Stokes told Sky Sports News about the recent disagreement. “I think there was a lot of factors that came into it.

“I was coming off the back of being injured for a couple of weeks and then I had a virus for two or three days so as far as I was concerned it really wasn’t much.

“It’s done and it’s dusted now and it’s not been mentioned since.

“Everything’s fine with myself and the gaffer. I genuinely didn’t see much of an issue with it to be honest and I don’t now. It’s done. It’s over with and I’m just focusing on my football.”

Hibs are currently sitting in fourth place in the SPFL but are just a point behind Sevco and Aberdeen who they meet in the two matches following the game against Celtic.
