Chris Sutton has slammed Motherwell and many of his final pundits over the ‘outcry’ following Celtic’s penalty at Fir Park on Wednesday night.
Led by Radio Scotland the criticism flowed over the airwaves as Willie Collum pointed to the penalty spot after Andy Rose barged into the back of Callum McGregor.
The anger only increased when Scott Sinclair put the penalty high into the Motherwell net with the state broadcaster focussing on only one issue from the moment that the final whistle went.
Why don’t people talk about the stupid challenge?? Motherwell clutching here…Mcgregor doesn’t dive…Pushed… penalty https://t.co/aTge1ZanAF

Just for all the people getting their knickers in a twist… Mcgregor definite pen… Sinclair I thought not enough contact to go down… no pen! But for Motherwell not to appeal it after all the outrage is odd to say the least…??

Despite their extensive cast list there was no one on the BBC prepared to suggest that they may have been hasty to condemn the penalty decision.
No one seemed prepared to say that the referee must have seen something since he was less than 10 yards away while the BBC crew sat in the back of the stand or the comfort of their studio watching Sevco on Sky Sports.
