Chris Sutton has no doubt that Ryan Jack deserved his red card at Aberdeen yesterday.

The Sevco midfielder connected with the ball in a challenge with Stevie May then followed through by planting his boot into the ankle of the Aberdeen striker.

Willie Collum instantly showed a red card with May having to be substituted shortly afterwards.

Incredibly some apologists defended Jack’s challenge but that attitude didn’t wash with Sutton.

As they do Sevco are expected to appeal against Jack’s fourth ordering off of the season.

Television footage of his last ordering off showed the midfielder raising a knee and his hands to Kirk Broadfoot.

While the Kilmarnock defender collapsed to the ground theatrically there was no doubting the intent shown by Jack although the SFA reduced the red card down to a booking.

If Jack successfully appeals the decision he’ll be available for Saturday’s clash with Ross County at Ibrox.
