In less than two weeks time the transfer window opens up with Celtic appearing well prepared to do business.

The conformation of Marvin Compper as a Celtic player seems to be only a matter of time but almost as importantly Brendan Rodgers will look to move on a number of players.

When he replaced Ronny Deila the Irishman had a big task to trim back on a bloated squad that was especially top heavy in terms of midfielders.

Over three windows he has managed to achieve that but there is still work to be done with even some of Rodgers’ signings being lined up to move out.

Any transfer requires three party agreement but with players out of the picture they are more likely to agree to move on.

During the summer transfer window Emilio Izaguirre, Kris Commons, Efe Ambrose, Logan Bailly and Gary Mackay-Steven were moved on, by the end of the summer window it could be the case that less than a dozen of the players that Rodgers inherited are still at the club.
