The pain of David Edgar

Pain is etched all over the face of Heart and Hand podcaster David Edgar as he reflects on Sevco’s 3-1 defeat from St Johnstone.

‘It’s the hope that kills them,” has been said often enough over the last few years of false dawns.

Yesterday certainly fell into that category as the triumphant fans marched to Ibrox expecting to win a fifth consecutive SPFL match.

Three points would have taken Sevco to just two points behind Celtic and piled the pressure on Brendan Rodgers’ side with some of the gullible discussing being top of the table at the end of the year.

Ninety minutes of reality from a team that lost 3-0 at home on Wednesday has once again sent hope plummeting among the Ibrox fans.

As Edgar goes through his podcast almost every player gets slaughtered, the heroes from Easter Road were left exposed destroying the hope that had built up over a four match winning run.

We’re getting mightily fed up of it now,” he states. The bad news for Edgar is that his tribute act were closer to Celtic when the journey began at Brechin than they are today.
