Andy Holt has launched a fresh attack on Sevco as they prepare to cash in on Josh Windass.
Two years ago the Accrington chief was left high and dry as the Ibrox club swooped to sign Windass and Matt Crooks on pre-contract agreements.
Rather than inform the Lancashire side of their intentions news leaked out through the media without even a courtesy call to Accrington.
The English side were powerless to prevent the two starlets joining Mark Warburton’s revolution but the underhand manner of the deal still rankles with the Stanley supremo.
The lads were offered contracts, I knew about Rangers long before they approached the club. https://t.co/5KsELhzqCe

They refused contracts because of Rangers and their agent. https://t.co/RwBkM5kQb2

No, I didn’t expect them to stay. The lads did what anyone would do. What I am saying is that it was all over the Scottish press and I was being contacted by agents telling me that they were going to Rangers long before the window opened as we were trying to secure contracts. https://t.co/ft1rOQNh9y

What I’m saying is that Rangers sent me a letter on Jan 3rd stating they wanted to talk to players, when I knew all that was left to do was the medical. That’s what pissed me off. It’s a bit like asking permission off someone to shag his wife when he knows you’re already at it. https://t.co/xQCMt7IKT9

Preston and Leeds are expected to put in bids for Windass towards the end of the transfer window giving the goalscoring midfielder the chance to step up to the second tier of the English game.
Crooks failed to make any impact at Ibrox and returned south of the border to Scunthorpe in the summer for a token fee after arriving in a £200,000 double deal with Windass.
