Jozo Simunovic is a transfer target for Burnley.

According to a report in the Daily Record the English outfit are ready to revive the interest that they showed in the summer.

At that time Celtic weren’t interested but that attitude has softened with Brendan Rodgers going public about his concerns over the injury problems that the defender has suffered from.

Celtic signed Simunovic from Dinamo Zagreb in August 2015 as a replacement for Virgil van Dijk but he has never looked like stepping into the Dutchman’s role.

Last season it looked like Simunovic was forming a good partnership with Erik Sviatchenko but it’s likely that both players will leave Celtic this month with Brendan Rodgers introducing Kris Ajer to the defence and signing Marvin Compper.

Celtic are believed to be looking for £10m for the 23-year-old stopper but an offer over £7m will be hard to turn away even though Simunovic signed a four year contract earlier this season.
