Celtic have completed the signing of Leo Mazis.

According to the Oz Celts website the 17-year-old has agreed to a three year contract and will join his new team-mates on January 10 when he moves into the Development Squad.

Mazis spent time on trial with Celtic in November and did enough to convince the Academy coaching team to strike a deal with Aussie side Belconnen.

According to the Oz Celts Mazis plays in a similar style to Mikey Johnston who has taken the Academy route into the Celtic first team.

Five years ago Celtic signed Tom Rogic from East Coast Mariners with the midfielder developing into a first team regular and full internationalist.

Prior to that Jackson Irvine was signed and although Celtic didn’t get the benefits he has gone on to have a successful career at Ross County, Burton Albion and Hull City.

Mazis could get his chance in the Development League with the hoops having only played six of their 26 fixtures so far with the campaign resuming on Monday night away to St Mirren.
