The prospects of Celtic signing Scott Bain have increased with Cammy Bell quitting Kilmarnock by mutual concent.
Bain has been caught up in a bizarre transfer triangle triggered by Craig Gordon being out of action for 12 weeks.
Motherwell have refused to consider Celtic’s offer for Trevor Carson which has pushed Brendan Rodgers towards Bain who joined Hibs on January 1 after a spectacular fall out with Neil McCann.
The one time Scotland squad member is out of contract at the end of the season and has joined Hibs for that period and is still officially a Dundee player.
Hibs appear to have agreed to send Simon Murray on loan to Dundee which could now allow Scott Allan to move to Easter Road, cancel Scott Allan’s loan deal to Dundee and switch the midfielder to Hibs.
Completing the three way movement Bain can move to Celtic, Allan to Hibs and Murray to Dundee with Hibs picking up Bell as their new back up keeper.
