Andy Holt has set the Daily Record straight over the transfer of Josh Windass and Matt Crooks to Sevco in 2016.
The Ibrox club were perfectly entitled to sign the starlets on pre-contract agreements as they entered the last six months of their contracts at Accrington Stanley.
A simple phone call to Accrington could have led to a seamless deal but as ever Sevco preferred to leak their business through favoured media outlets.
No rant at all. Just saying how I felt at a point in history. And btw it was around €130,000 that was the fixed FIFA compensation for both top players. They didn’t want to pay that either, offering €75,000 initially off memory. https://t.co/iavUD5KImK

And rangers had our lads training with them whilst I was still paying their wages. Fact not a rant. I banned this, they offered €75,000 to settle when the FIFA legal minimum was €130,000.
You won’t be surprised to hear we got the €130k.— Andyh (@AndyhHolt) January 19, 2018
Dragging their feet at every stage Sevco waited until the summer to bring the players in rather than putting in an offer that could have brought the talented two into Ibrox in January 2016.
Although Crooks moved to Scunthorpe last year Sevco are expected to pick up a £500,000 fee for Windass later this month with Leeds and Preston both keen on the midfielder who is under contract until June 2020.
