Lazio have joined the race for Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic.
According to the website Sport Clanak the interest has been tweeted by Italian journalist Mattia Deidda who has a track record for transfer deals involving the Rome club.
Simunovic has regularly been linked with Torino and underwent a medical with the Italian side in August 2016 but no deal was completed with the defender playing a significant role in Celtic’s treble success.
Brendan Rodgers’ seems to have ran out of patience with the defender who has been dogged by injury problems since signing from Dinamo Zagreb.
The emergence of Kris Ajer and signing of Marvin Compper is likely to push Simunovic down to fourth choice defender and open to a transfer despite signing a new contract earlier this season.
With Burnley and Crystal Palace also interested in the defender it looks like the 23-year-old’s time in Glasgow is coming to an end with Celtic hoping to bring in a £10m transfer fee.
