Jack Ross believes that his special relationship with Brendan Rodgers has sealed the transfer of Lewis Morgan.

The transfer of the Saint Mirren winger is expected to be completed today with the Celtic boss an admirer of his counterpart at Paisley.

Last season Jack took Alloa and St Mirren to Celtic Park in cup competitions with his approach and tactics making a big impression on the hoops boss.

Rodgers took note of Morgan during the Scottish Cup tie in March and is prepared to let him go on loan to Saint Mirren before joining up at Celtic in pre-season.

Until it is done officially, I don’t think he nor I would want to say too much but I think it is the worst kept secret in Scottish football at the moment,” Jack told Radio Clyde.

“I am quite fortunate that I have a good relationship with Brendan (Rodgers) so from that side it has been good and obviously Tony Fitzpatrick in his role as chief executive here in his discussions with Peter (Lawwell, Celtic chief executive) has been good.

“It has allowed us to get to a situation which is ideal with us by having him back for the rest of the season. That was really important for us so I am delighted and grateful that that is the case.”

Saint Mirren are hoping to get Celtic midfielder Mark Hill included as part of the deal as they push for promotion back to the SPFL.

The one automatic place looks like being a shoot out between Saint Mirren and Dundee United with Morgan scoring both goals last Friday when the Saints beat United in Paisley.
