Brendan Rodgers has dampened down expectations that Tom Rogic could soon be back in first team action.

The midfielder was spotted training with his team-mates on Monday after being out of action since the 1-0 defeat from Anderlecht at the start of December.

The absence of Rogic, Patrick Roberts and Stuart Armstrong has created a large void in the Celtic side with Rodgers looking to bring in extra creativity during the winter transfer window.

Pat (Roberts) is still a few weeks away,” Rodgers explained to Radio Scotland last night.

Tom has been out for a little while, he was merely getting involved in our warm up, he still has a bit of time to go, there is no definitive time on him yet.

We’ll need to wait and see but it was good to get him out on the grass, you see his influence and what you miss with a player like Tom.”

Armstrong had a hernia operation in Germany last week and should resume training this week although it’s unlikely that he will be fit to face Hibs on Saturday.

With an 11 point lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership Rodgers can cast an eye towards the Europa League clashes with Zenit St Peterburg next month.

No fresh injuries were reported after last night’s 2-1 win over Partick Thistle at Firhill which puts the pressure on Aberdeen ahead of their clash with Sevco at Ibrox tonight.
