Greg Docherty will complete his dream move to Sevco today according to the Daily Record.

The Hamilton board have been under pressure to push the deal through with the Ibrox club using their favoured public negotiating tactic.

After leaking news of an enquiry a £300,000 bid was quickly rejected with today’s offer apparently reaching £650,000.

There is one crucial stage that the deal has to overcome with the Record admitting ‘ the structure of the payment still has to be rubber-stamped by Ibrox chairman Dave King but Accies expect an agreement to be in place on Wednesday.’

King hasn’t sanctioned any transfer spending this month with Brighton rejecting the payment plan offered to sign Jamie Murphy.

With four players brought in on loan it is unclear how the Sevco finances could take on another salary and also pay out a down payment on a transfer fee.

Hamilton were the subject of an ‘internet fraud’ at the start of the season and may be prepared to accept a minimal down payment and the promise of jam tomorrow from season ticket and Europa League money.

Preston North End, Cardiff City and Swansea have also been linked with an interest in Docherty.

Douglas Park, whose son Graham is a Sevco director, is also a significant shareholder in Hamilton Accies.
