Sevco have upped their bid for Greg Docherty of Hamilton Accies.

According to STV Sport an improved offer has been put to the SPFL outfit for the midfielder who is under contract until 2020.

Unless the new offer includes a substantial up-front sum it’s unlikely to be considered by the Hamilton board of directors.

After failing to match the transfer terms to bring in Jamie Murphy from Brighton clubs have been alerted to the lack of funds available at Ibrox.

Having added four loan signings to their wage bill it’s highly unlikely that the tribute act have got the funds to put £300,000 up front to tempt Hamilton into negotiations.

Sevco are hoping to get Bruno Alves off the pay roll but are unable to find another club to match the terms of his contract which runs until June 2019.

It’s believed that Cardiff City and Preston North End are also interested in signing Docherty.
