Chris Sutton has questioned Neil McCann;’s motives in talking out about Celtic’s interest in Jack Hendry.

With no sign of a fresh bid between Wednesday night and Friday lunchtime the Dundee boss spoke out about a ‘low low bid’ for the defender.

It does seem that Celtic were interested in Hendry but after having an offer rejected the hoops have moved on to other targets.

It is unlikely that Hendry will be on a basic wage of more than £1,000/week which leaves McCann with a defender getting paid a lot less than his apparent transfer value.

With Dundee locked in the relegation dogfight it’s likely that an offer of £500,000 would be warmly accepted by the Dens directors with McCann getting half that sum to reinvest in his team.

Celtic are expected to make another offer before the transfer window closes which will be a test of McCann’s judgement and man management skills after claiming the first bid was way way too low.
