It is hardly a surprise to see the name McStay featuring for Celtic.

Today there was a new face in the Celtic Development side that won 2-0 away to Morton with Chris, the son of Paul enjoying 45 minutes in the shirt his dad graced for so many years.

Chris, who has been playing semi-pro for Sutherland Sharks, returned from Australia in November and was invited in to train with the Celtic academy.

Initially it was intended to sharpen him up to get fixed up with a Scottish side but it seems that he has made a big impact leading to today’s run out.

Son’s of former players have to deal with a number of issues but when your dad is up there with Henrik Larsson as the best post-Lisbon player the pressures become a little greater!

Recent signing Leo Mazis also played in today’s match with Celtic starting each half with two different XI’s, Ewan Henderson and Tom Caffrey scored the goals.

On Thursday Celtic return to Development League action when they take on Dundee United at St Andrews with the game kicking off at 1.30pm.
