Rab Douglas has admitted that he has never heard of knuckle-ball.
Dorus de Vries was heavily criticised after losing the second goal to Zenit St Petersburg and used the phrase knuckle-ball to explain what had happened.
There is no doubt that the shot from Daler Kuzyaev swerved in flight but de Vries looked poorly positioned to deal with the turn in the ball.
Pictures of the incident didn’t portray the Celtic keeper in a good light as the ball landed in a fairly central part of his net.
Sorry but never heard the term “knuckle ball….” ??????????????????????
Sadly no hiding place being a goalkeeper ????????????????????????— Robert Douglas (@Robert__Douglas) February 23, 2018
Easy for papers to lift your comments from twitter now . I actually feel sorry for DDV as I have been there . He will get stick and it’s the loneliest place . My tweet was meant I’ve never heard the term knuckle ball. Lazy online journalism trying to twist things ????????

Just to clarify I would never criticise a fellow goalkeeper. Not in my nature , anyone who knows me well enough will agree. All it takes is a split second to go from hero to zero.
I’ve made enough mistakes in my career and hope DDV comes back stronger ????????#gkunion— Robert Douglas (@Robert__Douglas) February 23, 2018
De Vries is likely to retain his place when Celtic face Aberdeen on Sunday with Scott Bain not having played a competitive game since October when he fell out with Neil McCann at Dundee.
Brendan Rodgers was highly critical of his side after the match but has to turn to the same group of players for Sunday’s match at Aberdeen.
