Alfredo Morelos is hoping to earn a move to England rather than agree to an £11m move to China.

Unknown clubs in unknown countries and unknown continents have been linked with the Sevco goal ace who cost £1m from HJK Helsinki last summer.

Despite the player being touted to a number of English clubs last month no bids were received as the cash crisis grew at Ibrox.

Sevco’s desperate finances have forced Andrew Dickson to put the tellys, wifi and pie stalls up as security against a £3m loan from Close Brothers but that deal could be cleared if an English Championship side go crazy for Alfie in the summer.

Reporting on an interview from Columbia The Sun reports Morelos saying: “I play in a country very close to the English Premier League and I think that many teams are watching me.

So I am very happy with what I am doing right now. I have a positive mentality and if a team in England showed serious interest in me, it would be very exciting.”

It could be a long wait for the striker with Sevco having to save face by looking for at least £10m for Morelos.

Graeme Murty has talked about having talks about giving Morelos a new contract but it’s highly unlikely that Sevco will be able to offer much of an improvement on the £6,000 gross that the Columbian is currently earning.
