BBC Scotland have blown the Alfredo Morelos moonbeam apart by confirming that Beijing Renhe have no interest in the Sevco striker.

With no interest in any of their players someone inside Sevco decided to do a Barrie McKay with Morelos and concoct interest in the former HJK Helsinki man.

Graeme Murty helped fuel the ‘interest’ in his press conference to preview the Scottish Cup tie at Fraserburgh.

While RB Leipzig were easily contactable and able to kill off the McKay story last January contact with Chinese clubs is more difficult.

At lunchtime today Kheredine Idessane, taking time off from globe trotting with Andy Murray, did what no one else dared do and sounded out his Chinese contact to get the story from the other end.

While the moonbeam served a purpose in distracting Sevco fans from the grim reality at their club it has left Morelos ‘confused’ to quote Murty.

On Wednesday morning some publishers carried stories that the Columbian ace could pick up £75,000 a week if he moved to China.

Now Murts has to try and lift a striker that struggles to understand the offside rule and convince him that he can score his way into the Colombian World Cup squad while he looks at a monthly take home wage of around £13,000!
