No apology for Brendan

Chris McLaughlin hasn’t followed the example of his BBC colleague Kheredine Idessane in the apology stakes.

As Brendan Rodgers joked about Craig Levein’s obsession with Scott Brown the man from the BBC wanted to probe further.

Over the last 18 months Rodgers and McLaughlin have developed a respectful working relationship which the state broadcaster badly misjudged yesterday.

One follow up question was brushed aside, when a follow up came in Rodgers issued a polite warning, many other managers would have been a little more forceful.

Last week after carefully checking with genuine Chines sources Idessane published what most folk knew as clear as day that the interest in Alfredo Morelos was fiction.

A few hours after breaking rank with his BBC colleagues Idessane published a retraction tweet, apologising to the club from Ibrox for getting a story so badly wrong.

McLaughlin didn’t tweet anything following Celtic’s Thursday media conference, this morning he was back on the ball with news of Walter Smith walking out on Scotland, again.
