Chris Sutton was quick to point out the difference between Zenit St Petersburg and Progress Niederkorn.
Celtic’s Europa League exit was a source of great joy for Sevco fans who seem to have forgotten all about their embarrassing exit seven months ago in Luxembourg.
Sutton wasn’t slow to put the boot into the Celtic players that failed to put in an appearance against the Russians but wasn’t in the mood to take stick from across the city.
I had a better football career than you???? https://t.co/MwY3U076OI

Sad to see you celebrating a Scottish team going out.. Could be worse though…. 9 points off the top and knocked out of Europe by a pub team… https://t.co/x6sd7BOC5h

While Celtic lost out at the last 32 Sevco failed to get through the first of four qualifying rounds which brings together the dregs of European football.
After winning 1-0 at Ibrox Pedro Caixinha’s Anglo-Latin warriors crashed to a 2-0 defeat away to the fourth best side in Luxembourg.
Following the defeat the Sevco boss was caught up in a shouting match with a group of fans while standing in a hedge.
That defeat blew a hole in Sebco’s finances for the season with the tellys, wi-fi and pie stalls used for security against a £3m loan from Close Brothers.
