After scoring against Celtic on Sunday Danny Candeias has signed a new bumper contract with Sevco.

The former Porto starlet has committed himself to staying at Ibrox until the summer of 2020 although it is highly unlikely that his wages would have been matched elsewhere.

Candeias’ extension follows on from the extended deals signed by James Tavernier, Josh Windass and Alfredo Morelos after the company was only able to sign Greg Docherty during January with Hamilton Accies shareholder Douglas Park brokering that deal.

Sevco is the sixth club that Candeias has played for since 2013 with the 30-year-old reckoned by many experts to have been Pedro Caixinha’s best signing of last summer.

During the January transfer window Sevco suffered the embarrassment of having to leave Jamie Murphy in Glasgow when they jetted out to Florida with Brighton refusing to accept their long term payment plan with no up front fee.

A loan deal was rushed through with Murphy and three other January loan signings all returning to their parent clubs in May.
