Celtic open Christie talks

Celtic have opened talks with Ryan Christie about extending his hoops contract.

The midfielder has just over a year left to run on his current deal and has been a key player for Aberdeen over the last year.

According to a report in The Express talks have started over a 12 month extension that would keep Christie at Celtic until the summer of 2020.

That option would give both parties the chance to see whether his loan to Aberdeen has been successful or not without any longer commitment.

Christie’s negotiations will be effected by the contract talks with Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong whose deals also run until June 2019 and effectively play in the same position.

A further complication is the loan agreement with Charly Musonda with Rodgers having four players in a similar position all with contracts running out at the same time.
