After the euphoria of winning at Ibrox it’s back to business at Motherwell on Saturday with the Premiership title as little as five wins away.

The win over Sevco was achieved despite being some way short of full strength but in Tom Rogic and Moussa Dembele Brendan Rodgers has two players coming good at the business end of the season.

It has been hot and cold since the turn of the year but with a healthy lead at the top of the table and wins at Pittodrie and Ibrox fresh in the mind the team can now kick on.

Going forward Celtic were a constant threat but at the back it was edge-of-your-seat stuff as Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata struggled to repeat the form that they displayed in their last two visits to Ibrox.

With a comfortable lead at the top and Simunovic suspended Rodgers can take a close look at the youthful combination of Jack Hendry and Kris Ajer.

Winning the title is the obvious priority but Rodgers is always looking to the medium term and will want to assess how the Ajer and Hendry partnership looks with a view to next season’s Champions League qualifiers.

SCOTT BAIN

Our new number one, from who to hero after 90 minutes at Ibrox on Sunday.

His Celtic career can kick on after his display at Ibrox where he showed that he has the nerve as well as the ability for the job.

It’ll be a different challenge from the Motherwell strikers but it’s one that he has faced before although not in the context of the run in to the title race.

MIKAEL LUSTIG

Has had a fortnight out of action since the Scottish Cup tie against Morton and can now concentrate on getting his game back together.

It has been an unimpressive start to 2018 but with two trophies on the line and a World Cup place up for grabs he needs to quickly rediscover his best form.

No one doubts his passion for the club, he showed that by his celebrations from the stand at Ibrox, but it’s on the pitch he needs to prove his worth.

JACK HENDRY

Has impressed as an emergency substitute at Pittodrie and Ibrox- a priceless introduction to life at Celtic.

Now it’s time to give him a run at centre-half with the suspension of Jozo Simunovic the perfect opportunity.

Being cup-tied from the Scottish Cup has been an obstacle but after his Ibrox appearance he can now go from strength to strength as a Celtic player.

KRIS AJER

Going from strength to strength which was highlighted at Ibrox.

He stuck to his task defensively at right-back then excelled in central defence after Jozo Simunovic was sent off, a measure of his versatility.

He has gone from being behind Nir Bitton and Mikael Lustig for a game in the Champions League to becoming the first choice central defender

KIERAN TIERNEY

Will be buzzin for this one after another impressive display at Ibrox.

He has recently had the left flank to himself and is more than capable of filling in at the back as well as charging forward.

KT is one of the most reliable players in the side, a high level is assured at both ends of the park- he is still improving which is very reassuring.

SCOTT BROWN

With another master-class performance in the bank the stock of the Celtic skipper continues to grow,

Last week he was warned about what the dream team of Goss and Docherty would do to him, the latest Ibrox heroes were left on the scrapheap alongside alongside Halliday and Holt.

Fir Park fixtures are rarely pretty, this one will be feisty but Brown will be in his element driving his team-mates on towards title number seven.

OLIVIER NTCHAM

Put in a mighty performance at Ibrox which will always be a testing ground for Celtic players.

The Frenchman has claimed the midfield anchor role alongside Scott Brown and will be looking to power on now that he has got his bearings in the Scottish game.

It’ll be a battle at Fir Park on Sunday, Ntcham can use his muscle to lay down a marker and his ability can help power Celtic through towards another title triumph.

JAMES FORREST

Didn’t have the best of times at Ibrox but that was largely due to a brutal and unpunished attack from Declan John.

Although Fir Park is much tighter than Ibrox Forrest is comfortable cutting inside and changing the flow of Celtic’s attacks.

Forrest is having his best ever season in front of goal and is on course for 20 this season, he sunk Motherwell in the final of the Betfred Cup in November and can do the same again.

TOM ROGIC

The big game hunter won’t be resting on his laurels despite a memorable double at Ibrox.

On his day he is the ideal number 10 playing just behind the main striker, linking perfectly with the midfield with an ever-present goal threat.

A big chunk of his season has been lost to injury but he is getting back towards his best and can be a big influence in the drive towards another treble.

ODSONNE EDOUARD

Has earned a place in the starting XI thanks to his goal at Ibrox and impressive link up play with Moussa Dembele.

He has been bubbling away this season and can now play a leading role in the run in to the title presenting a new dynamic to Celtic’s style of play.

Fir Park doesn’t offer much space but by playing close to Dembele the Motherwell defence will have their hands full which can create space for others.

MOUSSA DEMBELE

Some pretty serious questions were being asked about the striker a couple of weeks ago but goals at Ibrox and Pittodrie have demonstrated that the Frenchman is more than a one season wonder.

At Ibrox he was constantly penalised for challenging for the ball in the air, hopefully he gets a fair crack of the whip against a Motherwell side that isn’t shy to impose themselves.

With 13 goals so far he’ll be looking to get around 20 this season, at his current scoring rate he is well capable of that.
