Kieran Tierney is out of Celtic’s clash with Motherwell today.

The defender has played more top flight games than anyone else in Europe this season and is suffering from a calf strain.

As well as the match at Motherwell Tierney will miss the international friendlies but is expected to be fit for Celtic’s match against Ross County on March 31. Calvin Miller is the likely replacement for today’s match.

Last week’s win at Ibrox was the 53rd match of the season for the defender who’ll be watching the game with his pals in the Wishaw Emerald.

Celtic make the trip to Lanarkshire nine points clear of second placed Sevco with two matches in hand as they close in on the title.

Aberdeen are now arithmetically Celtic’s closest challengers with Derek McInnes’ side capable of reaching 80 points, one more than the tribute act.

A win at Motherwell would lift the hoops onto 70 points meaning that the title could be won in the first match after the split.
