Neil McCann has been given a two match touchline ban following his angry outburst after Dundee lost 4-0 at home to St Johnstone.

The Dens Park boss seemed to lose the plot as he approached the Saints bench, squaring up to kit man Manny Fowler, substitute keeper Zander Clark and having an angry exchange of words with Tommy Wright.

Television pictures captured the incidents clearly but there seemed to be another incident near the dressing rooms with McCann waiting to confront the victorious Saints players and management.

Yesterday McCann was called to explain himself to the SFA and seemed happy enough to take a two match touchline ban for his actions. Clark has also been suspended for two matches.

The Dundee boss will have to watch Sunday’s match against Hearts from the stand at Dens Park and will also miss out on Wednesday’s trip to Celtic Park.

Saints boss Wright is expected to give his thoughts on the suspensions today, after the match at Dens Park McCann described the incident as handbags.
