Ally McCoist has slammed Joey Barton for his disappearing act in his one and only match against Celtic.
Billy Big Baws was giving it the full ‘I am’ in the build up to the match as he trash talked Scott Brown and Brendan Rodgers.
The Sevco fans lapped up the antics of the former Strangeways Prison in-mate as they prepared to see Barton strut his stuff at Celtic Park.
Ninety sheepish minutes later it was all over for the publicity seeking Scouser.
He couldn’t even eye-ball Scott Brown when the two players shook hands with Rodgers’ side crushing the Sevco revival with Barton the first casualty with Mark Warburton following five months later.
It’s an episode that the former Burnley ace would rather gloss over but after slaughtering Scottish football on TalkSPORT he was reminded of a few home truths by McCoist.
“We need to get together and talk to him,” Sevco’s first ever manager explained on air. “ He has obviously not recovered from his stint up in Scotland. Joey needs a cuddle!
“He’s talking about making passes that people weren’t reading, I must have missed those, but what I didn’t miss was the 5-1 doing we got at Celtic Park where Joey played in the middle of the park with Niko Kranjcar and we got absolutely over-run.
