Lee McCulloch has been sacked for the second time this season.

The former Sevco skipper moved to Poland in January to assist former Ibrox fitness guru Adam Owen at Lechia Gdansk but after three draws and two defeats Lechia have brought in a new management team.

A statement from Lechia read: “By the decision of the club authorities, Adam Owen will no longer be the coach of the first Lechia Gda?sk team. The second coach Lee McCulloch, analyst Matt Newton and goalkeeper coach Andrzej Wo?niak will also leave the White-Green training staff.”

A year ago McCulloch took over as caretaker manager of Kilmarnock and helped steer them clear of the relegation scrap.

After being given the job on a permanent basis he only lasted until the end of September with Kilmarnock failing to win any of their opening eight Premiership matches.

Since taking over Steve Clarke has lifted the Ayrshire side into the top half of the table, doubled the home crowds with a home replay against Aberdeen standing between Kilmarnock and a semi-final place against Motherwell in the Scottish Cup.
