Brendan Rodgers has praised the strike partnership of Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele sparking speculation that the French duo could play together at Ibrox next week.

Since he arrived at Celtic 20 months ago Rodgers has almost always played with one striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

With Scott Sinclair off form Celtic’s main attacking threat has come down the right wing with Edouard’s introduction today causing chaos in the Morton defence as Celtic advanced to the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match Rodgers said: “Moussa and Odsonne combined very very well in the second half, good movement, both of them were a real threat.”

The Celtic boss has tried various attacking options without finding the fluency that powered the hoops to success last season.

The noise from Ibrox over the last fortnight has been unmissable with most Sevco fans believing that their side are favourites to take full points next Sunday.

On the back of three successive wins at Ibrox it could be a change in the striking department will give Rodgers his fourth successive win across the city.
