Stuart McCall’s title race

Stuart McCall has got Celtic’s Premiership lead down to three points and declared ‘game on’ in the title race.

Brendan Rodgers’ side currently enjoys a six point advantage at the top of the table with the SPFL expected to announce today that the postponed match with Dundee will be played next Tuesday or Wednesday.

With all respect to Neil McCann the hoops will be strong favourites to take full points and restore their nine point advantage with nine matches left to play.

The postponement of the Celtic v Dundee match has been greeted like a defeat for the hoops by many of the gullible and deluded with former Bradford boss McCall buying into that bizarre concept.

Speaking to The Sun he said: “If it goes to the split and there’s three points between the teams, it’s very interesting.

We’ll see what happens in the next Old Firm game. If Rangers win that and narrow the gap to three points it’s game on.

If they don’t, it’s back to nine and the excitement goes a bit.

It would be good for everyone in Scottish football to have a title race. We’d all like to be talking about some kind of challenge.”

McCall did his bit for Scottish football in 2015 when he took charge of Sevco from Kenny McDowall.

After reaching the Premiership play off Sevco slumped to a 6-1 aggregate defeat from Motherwell.
