Neil Warnock has been drafted in to bring some feel-good factor to Ibrox.

Back-to-back defeats from Celtic and Kilmarnock have been demoralising for the deluded but there is some comfort from the fact that Young McCrorie would have made the difference in those games.

Warnock has often been linked with a move to Ibrox but with Cardiff close to rejoining the EPL the Championship specialist can mame his terms to almost any club in that division.

The outspoken Yorkshireman has never been short of an opinion or three with his Scottish leanings firmly in the blue and gullible half of Glasgow.

As a regular on TalkSPORT he is often in demand for his views with The Sun picking up on one comment from this morning.

Warnock recalled: “I remember taking my lad to Rangers a few years ago for some training. I was impressed by the youths there.

“I haven’t seen 14 or 15 year olds as good as that. They’ve got to be close to that first-team now. The ability they had…I thought, ‘Wow, this is a comeback for Scottish football.’

That ability from a few years back seems to have got clogged up in the conveyor belt of excellence coming out of Murray Park.

After finishing in mid table in the Development League last season Sevco walked away from that to play friendlies against mid-table clubs in Belgium, Holland, Spain and Brentford.

Sevco did enter the SFA Youth Cup but after being Partick Thiste they were knocked out by St Johnstone in the last 16 of the competition.

McCrorie is expected to play his first match of the year at some stage this month but it’s believed that former England youth team starlet Jordan Rossiter may not play again this season.
