The relationship between Josh Windass and the Sevco support highlights the troubled times at the tribute act.
Dreams of a £2m transfer fee to the mediocrity of the English Championship are now much less frequent than on-line abuse for the former Accrington Stanley starlet.
During the golden spell of February Windass was in top form, scoring goals for fun as Graeme Murty’s side talked themselves into becoming title challengers!

The month did start with the 24-year-old scoring against Partick Thistle then holding his fingers to his lips in a ‘shut-it’ gesture to the Sevco support. Windass had been the fall guy for the defeat from Hibs a few days earlier.
With his own fondness for social media and his Grade E celebrity status certainly rubs supporters up the wrong way.
When his February Ladbrokes Player of the Month award was announced there was more than a few Sevco fans offering sarcastic praise.
Graeme Murty and the company have some much bigger issues to deal but the Windass situation continues to rumble on.
It’s unlikely to have a happy ending, well not for the player and his ‘fans’ anyway.
