It was the perfect day in Paradise, sunshine, goals another trophy claimed and a reminder to the gullible and deluded that the gap they talk about isn’t getting any closer.

Five memorable goals, four of them condensed into a 10 minute spell either side of half-time gave the 53,000 Celtic fans present and the millions watching around the globe exactly what they had hoped for.

At times it has been a stuttering season, even allowing for the how exceptional the Invincible season was, there has been frustrating days during the current campaign which is now a win over Motherwell away from being another treble triumph.

What this team has done is peak at all the right times- at Pittodrie, Ibrox and Hampden.

Seven wins out of seven at those venues has been the backbone of the season- killing off hope elsewhere just when they thought standards were slipping at Celtic.

There hasn’t been any new heroes emerge in the Celtic side but Kris Ajer and Olivier Ntcham have both shown the quality that suggests they might be Champions League quality players. Hopefully Odsonne Edouard will be back next season to test that theory.

Every title win is special, the clinching match of this season was a little bit more special than most and one that no fan will ever forget.
