Celtic perfect title gallery

It was the perfect day in Paradise, sunshine, goals another trophy claimed and a reminder to the gullible and deluded that the gap they talk about isn’t getting any closer.

Five memorable goals, four of them condensed into a 10 minute spell either side of half-time gave the 53,000 Celtic fans present and the millions watching around the globe exactly what they had hoped for.

At times it has been a stuttering season, even allowing for the how exceptional the Invincible season was, there has been frustrating days during the current campaign which is now a win over Motherwell away from being another treble triumph.

What this team has done is peak at all the right times- at Pittodrie, Ibrox and Hampden.

Seven wins out of seven at those venues has been the backbone of the season- killing off hope elsewhere just when they thought standards were slipping at Celtic.

There hasn’t been any new heroes emerge in the Celtic side but Kris Ajer and Olivier Ntcham have both shown the quality that suggests they might be Champions League quality players. Hopefully Odsonne Edouard will be back next season to test that theory.

Every title win is special, the clinching match of this season was a little bit more special than most and one that no fan will ever forget.

So good to be Celtic!

It’s so good to be Celtic- what could be better than a sunshine win over the tribute act to clinch the title on home soil?

There has been quite a few flat performances this season but the ‘agony’ of losing to Hibs last week was forgotten about as title number seven was clinched in style.

For Olivier Ntcham, Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer it was their first taste of success- it won’t be their last as the team evolves with Sevco as far behind the hoops as they’ve ever been in the last six years.

Odsome

Before the match there was surprise when Leigh Griffiths was on the bench but once again ‘In Brendan we trust’ came up trumps.

His match-winner at Ibrox was memorable, today he took things up a notch or two with a double and the sort of domineering performance that had been the trademark of Moussa Dembele against Sevco.

Edouard was awesome, he thrived on the atmosphere and acclaim, he’s unlikely to get a testimonial from Celtic but next season’s Champions League qualifiers will be a little easier if the French kid is still around.

Agony for Young McCrorie

He is the great hope of the Murray Park Academy but the dream is turning into a nightmare for Young McCrorie with a young Celt from France causing his latest nightmare

Two weeks ago his involvement in the Scottish Cup semi-final ended as he dragged Moussa Dembele to the deck, he couldn’t get close enough to Odsonne Edourard to try the same tactic.

No one knows what direction Edouard’s career will move of in but it will certainly be upwards, wherever he ends up he’ll not forget a certain season in Glasgow where he became a hero to the green and white.

Academy bhoys

What a season these bhoys are having, one from Springburn, the other from Prestwick.

In the biggest games of the season they’ve turned up, put in the performances, scored the goals and picked up their medals.

With home-bred players there is greater loyalty, they stay around a little longer with McGregor and Forrest both well into their second decade as Celtic players- there’ll be more years, goals and trophies to come.

Piling on the agony

The team has been creating history and the fans, in the Green Brigade have been recording it brilliantly.

Four wins out of four at Ibrox have been well celebrated but today it was time to add another chapter at Celtic Park.

The fans had suffered through two draws against the tribute act but today it all came good as the title was clinched in style with the so-called city rivals reminded that the gap isn’t moving in the direction that they’d like it to be moving in.
