Clint Hill is the latest Ibrox favourite to undermine Graeme Murty.

The former Reading utility man is in charge of Sevco until the end of the season with no suggestions either way of whether he will be kept in charge longer term.

Ally McCoist, Barry Ferguson and Walter Smith have all questioned whether Murty will be given the job for next season rather than follow the convention of backing the man in brown brogues.

Murty faces a demanding week leading up to another clash with Celtic but rather than offer support Hill is singing the praises of Neil Warnock!

The 69-year-old is on the verge of picking up a £1m plus bonus for taking Cardiff City into the EPL but Hill, who played under Warnock at QPR, could be tempted to Ibrox!

“I think he would love another crack at the English Premier League with Cardiff but he does speak fondly of Rangers,” Hill told the Daily Record.

“Give him everything you have got and he will love you, if you don’t, then you might not be staying around very long”

Hill added: “He is unique, no other manager can do what he does. Gives players responsibility, treats them like human beings, generally recruits good characters that are willing to sacrifice themselves for the team and this in turn creates a strong bond and a camaraderie between players.”

Saturday’s win over Dundee lifted Sevco back above Aberdeen on goal difference but with five matches left to play just three points seperates three clubs in the battle for second place.
