The SPFL are believed to be close to finally releasing their post split fixture list.

The identity of the top six clubs has been known for a fortnight but as they attempt to please everyone except supporters the SPFL have been keeping the matches a closely guarded secret.

Fans with season tickets don’t know if their club will be playing at home or away next weekend with the matches scheduled for anytime on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

BT Sport are one of the partners involved in fixture discussions and suggested that the fixtures may finally be published later today.

The broadcaster claims:

The Scottish Professional Football League are expected to release the post-split fixtures later on Tuesday but are understood to be keen to avoid pairing Celtic – who need just one more win to clinch their seventh-straight title – and Gers together with the championship up for grabs.

All eyes are on Celtic’s first fixture which will give Brendan Rodgers’ side the chance to clinch their seventh successive title.

A home match at lunchtime on Saturday April 21 is expected, probably against Aberdeen, leaving long distance fans to scramble for flights, trains and accommodation if they want to see their side go over the line to clinch the title.
