Ipswich Town are set to end Jason Cummings’ misery with a summer switch to Portman Road.

According to a report in The Sun the Nottingham Forest striker could link up with Martyn Waghorn and Joe Garner next season in a tribute to the tribute act.

Sevco took Cummings on loan from Nottingham Forest in January but he has had to settle for playing second fiddle to Alfredo Morelos.

The former Hibs striker talked the talk when he arrived at Ibrox but has had to watch two Glasgow derbies from the bench as Celtic killed off the noise of an Ibrox trophy challenge.

Mark Warburton paid Hibs £1m for Cummings last summer but after the former city trader collected his P45 from the City Ground new boss Aitor Karanka sent him out on loan.

It has been made clear to the 22-year-old that he has no future under the Spaniard with Ipswich able to offer the chance to play at Championship level.
