Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that he’ll be staying with Celtic for at least another three seasons.

Arsene Wenger’s resignation immediately sparked speculation that the Irishman could be on his way to Arsenal with Celtic’s largest shareholder, Dermot Desmond admitting that you can’t keep people in handcuffs.

Rodgers has repeatedly told the media about how happy he is with Celtic but Arsenal’s search for a new manager means that the question is no longer hypothetical.

With a double treble success available over the next month and plans underway for next season’s Champions League qualifiers Rodgers has no interest in what may be available at The Emirates Stadium.

I came in on a year’s deal in 2016, the club offered me four years last year and I was happy to sign that,” the Celtic boss explained to The Sun.

After this season I have three more years and I will be so happy if I can see that out.

I love working here and I love the whole process of developing players, winning games and seeing the club progress. I’ve a lot to do here with the job.

I’ve always said that I’m living my dream here like they all do and I’ll go back into the real world again.

I am obviously privileged to be here as the manager of Celtic.”

After taking Liverpool close to winning the Premiership in 2014 Rodgers’ stock was sky high but his departure from Anfield the following year left his achievements open to question.

He rejected a number of options before accepting the Celtic manager’s job in May 2016 and hasn’t given any sign that he is looking to leave Glasgow.
