Scott Brown delivered another masterful performance as Celtic eased past Sevco into the final of the Scottish Cup.
Faced with three Ibrox die-hards as his direct opponents- Greg Docherty, Jamie Murphy and Andy Halliday- the Celtic skipper barely blinked as he dominated the 90 minutes and dictated the flow of the match.
Negating the influence of Brown was central to Graeme Murty’s master-plan but none of his players had the ability to put that into action.
As the two teams stood in the tunnel the Sevco players realised the magnitude of their task, a task that they were knew they weren’t upto.
Unless Brown had an off day there was only going to be one winner with the 32-year-old in complete command throughout the match.
Various Sevco players tried to wind Brown up but it was only late in the game that Alfredo Morelos managed to get the Celtic skipper booked- wile also going into Bobby Madden’s book at the same time.
When the final whistle blew it was Brown that the Celtic players turned to. Olivier Ntcham and Moussa Dembele produced significant performances but everyone inside Hampden knew that the outcome of the match had been orchestrated from the Fifer.
Sevco have to face up to their Brown dilemma again in 13 days time but the Celtic skipper has bigger fish to fry with a double treble on the line against Motherwell next month at Hampden.
