After taking a week off following the Hampden humiliation to Celtic, Sevco have cranked up their Deflection Campaign ahead of the final Glasgow derby of the season.

A glut of stories have been released today including a midfield pairing of Scott Arfield and James McArthur working under a dream management team of Graham Potter and/or Steven Gerrard!

Every possible angle is covered to try and increase the trickle of money coming in for season ticket renewals with two defeats in a month from Celtic causing fans to pause before splashing out on another season of misery and humiliation.

McArthur is a true blood lifelong fan with his contract about to expire at Crystal Palace.

At the age of 30 he has still one more big contract to pick up before considering a pension top up competing with Greg Docherty, Jack Ross and Jason Holt for a midfield place.

Arfield’s football allegiance isn’t so well known but with his Burnley deal about to expire he won’t be signing anywhere until July giving Sevco the chance to indulge in wishful thinking.

Gerrard was a visitor to Ibrox for the last derby defeat and carries the big name appeal to shift season books with the promise that he’ll do a Souness and revive the new club. A few bets placed and suddenly his odds on becoming manager come crashing down and the headlines are written.

Potter falls into the ‘interesting project’ category after leading Ostersunds through the Swedish divisions all the way to the last 32 of the Europa League.

With ex Hamilton boss Billy Reid as his assistant there is a fragile link to Scottish football but 42-year-old Potter is likely to pick up an offer from the English championship during the summer.

The chaos of last week has pushed the Sevco support to the edge of mutiny, some are even doubting the wealth and commitment of Dave King.

Should there be a repeat of the Hampden humiliation at Celtic Park on Sunday the squirrel launcher may end up walking away.
